Henry Hindley of York - 18th century 8-day oak cased longcase clock c1765, with a flat topped pediment, wide cornice and blind frieze beneath, square hood door with attached pillars and brass capitals, rectangular trunk with a conforming long flat topped door, corresponding plinth with a decorative applied base and feet, brass dial with a silvered chapter ring, seconds dial and square date aperture, Roman numerals, five minute Arabic's and minute band, cast spandrels and matted dial centre, twin train rack striking movement with baluster pillars and an unusual striking hammer arrangement designed to operate a separate striking mechanism and bell housed in another room/location. Bell mechanism present. With weights and pendulum.
