Description: Rare pair of London 40 bore Officer's percussion duelling pistols by Robert Braggs c1830/40, with 9.5" (24cms) octagonal Damascus steel sighted barrels with original browning, marked along the top 'Braggs 36 High Holborn London', hammer, tang and trigger guard engraved with floral scrolls and retaining 80% of the original colour, ebony ramrods with steel caps and brass tips, richly figured walnut half stocks with chequered grips and vacant white metal cartouches, each 16in. (41cms) long overall, in original brass bound mahogany case with makers label containing rosewood and brass tipped cleaning rod, copper flask branded 'G & JW Hawksley', small tin of Eley's copper percussion caps, two spare nipples in rosewood container, a steel shot mould 'No. 40', and a quantity of lead shot in covered compartment, case 46.5cm x 21cm x 7cm high

Condition Report:

Overall appearance is quite good. There are signs of use to the stocks with some scratches and bumps. Holds on half cock and full cock with strong springs and fires. Each gun has a small nick to the barrel. Case in reasonably good condition consistent with age and use and both locking facilities work.
