Set of twelve George III silver dinner plates by Thomas Heming, London 1769, each circular shaped with gadrooned rim and engraved with the Lowther coat of arms, approx 210oz The crest is that of Lowther, probably for William Lowther, 1st Earl of Lonsdale (1757-1844) Thomas Hemming was appointed Principal Goldsmith to King George III from 1760 until 1782.
