19th century scrimshaw pocket watch stand with two sperm whales teeth and central baleen watch holder; etched for the sailing ship 'Emma' at Warren Rhode Island and dated 1852, H14cm Notes: Warren was an active whaling port from the mid 18th century and became the leading whaling port of Rhode Island in the early 19th century, sending on average twenty whalers per year. The last whaler departed from Warren in 1865, following the decline of the whaling industry.

19th century scrimshaw sperm whale tooth from the whaler 'Dove' initialled J.A, Notes, Dove was a Union whaling boat, built at Newbury. Tt was scuttled as part of the Second Stone Fleet on January 25th-26th, 1862, in an attempt to block Charleston Harbor. The captain of the Dove was Captain James Wells Green Port. There were five members of the crew had the initials J.A, any of which could have created the scrimshaw.
