A Scottish mahogany veneered longcase c1820 with a flat top and convex moulding beneath, square hood door with a circular glass dial aperture, turned wooden bezel flanked by plain pilasters and silk backed sound frets to the sides, hood on a tapered trunk with flamed mahogany veneer and applied cushion mouldings, three-quarter length trunk door with crossbanding on a square plinth raised on a deep convex moulding and four turned bun-feet, white painted 12” dial with Roman numerals, minute track and subsidiary seconds dial, with plain blued steel moon hands and seconds pointer, dial pinned via a Wilson cast iron false plate to an eight day rack striking movement with a recoil anchor escapement, striking the hours on a bell.
