  • A compact Edwardian Aneroid barometer in a  Regency “Sheraton style”case, broken pediment with finial and rounded base, mahogany veneered with satinwood stringing to the edge and panels of coloured and shaded conch shell and leaf inlay enclosed within entwined leaves, with a six inch dial recording barometric air pressure from 28 to 31 inches in fifths of an inch, steel indicating hand and brass recording hand, dial inscribed “J Casartelli & Son, 43 Market Street, Manchester”, with a flat bevelled glass and brass bezel, glazed arched topped thermometer box with a spirit thermometer and silvered register recording the temperature in degrees Fahrenheit.
*J Carsatelli & Son (1896-1925) A partnership between Joseph Lewis and his son Joseph Henry. The elder Joseph died in 1900 and the son carried on the business until his death in 1925.
