Large early 20th century oak smokers cabinet with two, part glazed panel doors and fitted interior, the shaped cresting with plaque inscribed 'Presented to Bro. W G Loraine on Aug 31.13 as a mark of Appreciation by The Railwaymen of Manchester District', H62cm, W55cm, D20cm. W G Loraine was President of The Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants in 1902. Founded in 1871, the ASRS eventually merged wth ASLEF,GRWU & UPSS to form The National Union of Railwaymen in1913.
