Kingdom of Italy Order of the Iron Crown, replica, the Knight’s breast badge in gilt metal and enamel with crowned bust of Emperor Napoleon facing left to the centre, in fitted case; Auctioneer's Note: The order was created by Napoleon I on June 5, 1805, as the highest order of the Italian kingdom, abolished in 1814.After the transition of most of the Italian kingdom under the rule of the Austrian Empire, the order was restored by the emperor Austrian in 1816.
