This artwork comes with a notable provenance, originating from a private collection and acquired through David Duggleby Ltd on the 15th of September 2014 as Lot 205. Prior to this, it was part of the esteemed Robert (Pat) & Mary Patterson collection. Pat, the former curator of the Castle Museum York (1951-1972), oversaw its transformation into the most visited museum outside London during his tenure. The couple resided in the picturesque Runswick Bay.
