On 12th October 1904 the Gamecock Fleet was fishing Dogger Bank when the Russian Baltic Fleet mistook them for the Japanese Navy and Fired on them. The S.T.Crane was sunk, the injured and survivors were transferred to Joseph & Sarah Miles.
