  • Titanic interest - Signal Series elongated real photographic postcard of RMS Titanic presumably sent prior to the sinking by a Harland & Wolff fitter who lived at 103 Island Street, Newtownards Road, Belfast. The message reads 'Dear Mother, At last I have managed to get a photo of the ship in place of the one you have given away. it is not the same ship as the one you gave uncle Charlie but is exactly like her as they are sister ships. This is the one I am working on at the present time. having a nice comfortable time of it in the Turkish baths. it is to be a fine job when it is finished the fittings are to be inlaid with mother-of-pearl. I just wish you could have a look round it you would see the sight of a life time. I am getting on first rate here and in good health. We are having some very rough weather here now but we cannot grumble as we have had some very nice weather since we came. I am looking forward to Xmas when I hope to see you all again. I hope you are all keeping in the best of health same as it leaves me at present. Both postally unused. Card with message in generally quite good condition just a little grubby from storage. Minor evidence verso to each corner of historic adhesive. Post sinking card in similar condition with very feint crease close to one end. Traces of historic adhesive along top edge.
