The exciting sale on the afternoon of Friday 24th June features Raich Carters Personal Archive
of his sporting life and career and thence by family descent, as well as an extensive private lifelong collection of Hull memorabilia and items of Yorkshire interest (and beyond!). Highlights include important and rare early Raich Carter memorabilia, in particular, his own personal biographical scrap-book in two volumes (lot 3516) and an interview recording of John Lennon conducted by a student of Hull University in 1964 (lot 3571).

A late 18th century ebonised bracket clock retailed by William Rust, Market Place Hull c1790, case with brass handle and finials to an inverted bell top, pierced sound frets to the sides on foliate cast feet, break arch painted dial with Roman numerals, five minute Arabic's and minute track, matching steel hands and pendulum regulation to the arch, with painted depictions of gilded yellow flowers to the spandrels and conforming decoration to the arch, 8-day twin fusee movement with a recoil anchor escapement, striking the hours on a cast bell with pull repeat, movement backplate engraved “W Rust, Hull”. With pendulum. ***William Rust 1780-1827, is recorded as a clockmaker and goldsmith. Partnered with John Shipham as Rust & Shipham 1820s, later becoming Barnby & Rust.
