Gent & Co Leicester-early 19th century mahogany cased nightwatchman master clock c1905, with a fully glazed door, 9" painted dial with roman numerals, spade hands and makers name, single fusee mechanical and electro magnetic recording movement with an engraved recording barrel and charts. With pendulum and a number of spare unused charts. Gent and Co were prodigious late 19th and early 20th century makers of Watchman's and time clocks for use in factories, offices, warehouses, hospitals, asylums and workhouses.

Presented by Duggleby Auctioneers, this early 19th-century mahogany cased nightwatchman master clock from Gent & Co Leicester dates back to around 1905. The clock features a fully glazed door, a 9-inch painted dial with Roman numerals and spade hands, as well as the maker's name. It is equipped with a single fusee mechanical and electromagnetic recording movement, complete with an engraved recording barrel and charts. Additionally, the clock includes a pendulum and several spare, unused charts.

Gent & Co was a renowned manufacturer of Watchman's and time clocks during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Their timekeeping devices were widely used in various settings including factories, offices, warehouses, hospitals, asylums, and workhouses. This particular piece showcases the craftsmanship and innovation that the company was known for during that era.
