Up for auction is a charming Victorian wall-mounted oak and walnut cased scoreboard. This unique piece features a moulded top and a name stencilled in the frieze reading ‘J. Ashcroft, Victoria Street, Liverpool’. The scoreboard includes a chalk panel in the centre for recording scores, sliding panels on both sides for Billiards and Snooker games, and two numbered rotating arms with adjustable sliding score keepers.
The base section of the scoreboard boasts 5 apertures on each side, each adorned with coloured ivory roundels and glass fronts for viewing the tokens inside. Additionally, there are drawers beneath for storage purposes. Dating back to circa 1870, this scoreboard also features a long glass panel in the centre for storing billiard balls.
