John Rogers of Leominster (Herefordshire)- 30-hour single-handed mid-18th century longcase movement and dial in a later bespoke made mahogany case, movement with a 10" brass dial, early "crown "cast brass spandrels, matted dial centre and engraved boss with makers name, chapter ring with Roman numerals, quarter-hour track, half-hour markers and original pierced and fettled steel hand, dial pinned directly to a countwheel striking chain driven movement, sounding the hours on a cast bell. With weight and pendulum. John Rogers is recoded as working in Leominster 1750-78. The case has been sympathetically designed and specifically made to house the movement.

This mid-18th century longcase clock features a 30-hour single-handed movement and dial by John Rogers of Leominster, Herefordshire. The movement, housed in a bespoke mahogany case, boasts a 10" brass dial with early "crown" cast brass spandrels. The dial centre is matted with an engraved boss displaying the maker's name. The chapter ring sports Roman numerals, a quarter-hour track, half-hour markers, and original pierced and fettled steel hands. The dial is pinned directly to a countwheel striking chain-driven movement that sounds the hours on a cast bell. The clock comes complete with weight and pendulum.

John Rogers, known to have worked in Leominster from 1750 to 1778, crafted this impressive timepiece. The case has been thoughtfully designed and custom-made to complement the movement, showcasing a sympathetic approach to its presentation.
