Antiques & Decorative Objects

02 October 2025 13:00
Venue: Online & at Duggleby Stephenson, York, YO19 5GF

Our upcoming sale features a wide and varied selection of antiques and decorative pieces, with something to tempt every collector. A particular highlight is an impressive collection of Moorcroft pottery, including rare trial pieces and sought-after limited editions. Standouts include a Moon Shadows vase of waisted form, a trial piece standing 40cm high and offered in its original box, alongside a striking Cockerel pattern gourd-form vase, numbered 22 of just 50 produced.

Beyond Moorcroft, the sale brings together a rich mix of ceramics, works of art and curiosities. Chinese works of art feature strongly, with pieces ranging from a Song Dynasty ‘Frog’ bowl (c.960–1279AD) to a 19th century enamelled hexagonal bowl decorated with phoenix and flowers, and groups of 18th century blue and white and famille rose teabowls.

Collectors of British design will enjoy a Clarice Cliff Pink Pearls honey jar with bee finial, while continental porcelain is represented by a finely hand-painted Herend breakfast set. The sale also offers quirky delights such as a 1978 Gabrielle Designs ‘Aunt Lucy’ Paddington Bear in full outfit with spectacles and tag.

From timeless Chinese ceramics to 20th century design classics and charming decorative objects, this auction is packed with variety and character — explore the catalogue and place your bids today.
