The signature is that of King Edward VIII when Prince of Wales and is inscribed to M Lockwood. Lancelot Lockwood worked for the Royal household from the age of 15 and was known to Edward as 'M'. When he retired he lived in a Grace and Favour property on the Sandringham Estate and died in1981
