The Silver Sale presents a broad and well-rounded selection of silverware, ranging from Georgian and Victorian pieces through to Edwardian and later 20th-century examples, with something to suit collectors, decorators and everyday use.
Highlights include an elegant Edwardian three-piece bachelor’s tea set by Josiah Williams & Co, a substantial Mappin & Webb oval tray with pierced rim, and a fine late Victorian muffin dish and cover by the same maker. Decorative tableware is well represented with bowls on pedestal feet, sauce boats, sugar baskets with glass liners, candlesticks and fruit bowls, alongside practical items such as tea caddies, hip flasks, and a George III wine funnel.
Flatware and small silver feature strongly, including Georgian and Victorian spoons and forks in a variety of patterns, cased sets of teaspoons and coffee spoons, novelty examples such as Zodiac and Roman spoons by John Pinches, and a selection of condiment sets, napkin rings and photograph frames. There is also interest in personal and collectable items, from snuff boxes and cigarette cases to silver-mounted clocks and children’s pieces.
With a wide variety of forms, makers and price points on offer, this sale provides an excellent opportunity to add quality silver to a collection or interior — browse the catalogue now and place your bids before the sale closes.
