Our Coins, Banknotes & Stamps sale offers a broad and engaging selection for collectors and enthusiasts, spanning centuries of numismatic and philatelic history. The auction features a strong run of gold sovereigns and fractional sovereigns from the reigns of George III through to Elizabeth II, alongside an impressive offering of British silver coinage, proof and commemorative sets, world coins, banknotes and stamps.
Among the highlights is a Queen Victoria 1864 gold ‘shield back’ full sovereign, together with substantial accumulations of British silver, including a large group of Great British pre-1947 silver half crown coins weighing approximately 2,690 grams. Modern collectors are also well served by a number of attractive cased Royal Mint and commemorative issues, notably The Royal Mint 2004 ‘The Golden Age of Steam’ set, comprising eighteen silver proof five pound coins, and a Queen Elizabeth II 2022 ten ounce fine silver ten pound coin. Another notable modern issue is the Queen Elizabeth II Gibraltar 2020 ‘Twelve Labours of Hercules’ set of twelve two pound coins, offered cased with certificates.
The sale also includes a varied selection of earlier hammered and milled coinage, group lots of pre-1920 and pre-1947 silver denominations, Royal Mint proof sets, modern commemorative issues, and an assortment of world coins and historic banknotes. The stamp section offers a good range of Great Britain material from Queen Victoria onwards, including a King George V 1929 Postal Union Congress one pound stamp, as well as albums, presentation packs and accumulations suited to both collectors and trade buyers.
Overall, the sale presents an excellent mix of individual collector pieces, bullion-related material, Royal Mint issues, banknotes and stamp collections, with plenty to interest both specialist buyers and general collectors. Browse the catalogue and place your bids now.
