Dating back to the 1950s, this exceptional oak coffee table is a testament to the craftsmanship of Mouseman furniture. The octagonal adzed top sits elegantly on a cruciform base with sledge feet, all intricately carved with the iconic mouse signature.
Crafted by Ken Almack in the workshop of renowned furniture maker Robert Thompson in Kilburn, this piece bears the date 1956 and is engraved with the name 'Sylvia' along the top edge. Ken Almack, brother of Colin ‘Beaverman’ Almack, honed his skills at the same workshop before establishing his own.
Interestingly, this table holds sentimental value as it was created for Sylvia to commemorate their engagement in 1956, preceding their marriage the following year. Its unique history adds a personal touch to this already remarkable piece.
This oak coffee table comes with a noteworthy provenance, originating from the estate of Ken Almack and previously featured at Tennants Auctioneers, 20th Century Design sale on 5th October 2024. Don't miss the opportunity to own a piece of Mouseman history with this exquisite and meaningful furniture item.
