.Our quarterly Fine Paintings sale showcases a curated selection of quality works spanning British, European and maritime art, bringing together celebrated names, important Yorkshire painters and fresh-to-market private collections. At the heart of the auction is an outstanding collection of works by Frank Henry Mason, including the atmospheric After the Gale – Whitby, striking Mediterranean scenes painted during and just after the First World War, and a large Venetian lagoon watercolour. The Staithes School is further represented by notable works from Joseph Richard Bagshawe, Mark Senior, Florence Adelina Hess, Robert Jobling, Arthur A Friedenson, Albert George Stevens and John Spence Ingall, offering collectors a rare opportunity to acquire paintings connected to one of Britain’s most distinctive artistic communities.

Collectors will also find works by Thomas Bush Hardy, Charles Napier Hemy, Henry Redmore, Paul Marny, George Weatherill and John Wilson Carmichael, alongside Continental paintings by artists including Francesco Vinea, Giuseppe Riva and Stefano Novo.
