Yorkshire Masters & Makers

Friday 20 November 2026 13:00
Venue: Online & Live Broadcast from Duggleby Stephenson of York

Rare early Mouseman commissions offer a personal link to Robert Thompson in our Yorkshire Masters & Makers sale. Two 1927 armchairs and a carved oak fender were made for his solicitor, George Bolton, and have passed down through his family. The chairs retain distinctive early mouse signatures with clearly defined front paws, while the fender features a fool, a wise man and two carved mice.

The catalogue features 138 Mouseman lots across furniture, lighting and smaller collectables, with a limited edition Hovingham Estate coffee table among the pieces to discover. Work by Rabbitman, Gnomeman, Acornman and other Yorkshire makers adds to the selection of regional craftsmanship.

Beyond the furniture, Sally Arnup’s bronze horse’s head and paintings by Neil Simone, Mark Hearld and Barry De More offer further opportunities to explore Yorkshire’s artistic talent. These are just a few of the notable pieces within this varied sale.
