A complete set of six late 18th-century engraved maps by Scottish cartographer John Ainslie (1745–1828), for sale at auction at Duggleby Auctioneers. The hand-coloured outline maps comprise ‘America’, ‘Europe’, ‘Asia’, ‘Africa’, ‘Orbis Terrarum Veteribus Notus’ and ‘Italia Graecia Asia &c.’; the ancient world map is after d’Anville. Each measures up to 21 × 27 cm. Offered unframed.
