This beautiful single-owner collection features over 150 paintings, drawings, and prints, carefully assembled by a discerning Yorkshire collector with a keen eye for regional and British painting. The collection is rich in works by Staithes Group artists and other prominent Northern and Yorkshire painters, complemented by 20th-century and contemporary names, Continental pieces, and fine miniatures.
At its core is a strong representation of the Staithes Group, with works by Frank Henry Mason, John Atkinson, Rowland Henry Hill, Joseph Alfred Terry, and Mark Senior, alongside watercolours by George and Mary Weatherill and Frederic Stuart Richardson.
Further highlights include paintings by William E. Rees BEM, Philip Naviasky, and Frederick (Fred) Lawson, as well as contemporary Yorkshire names such as Malcolm Ludvigsen, Richard Barnes, and David Baumforth – each continuing the region’s proud artistic tradition.
