Affordable Art returns this June with an eclectic and accessible selection of paintings, prints and works on paper, proving that building an art collection need not come with a premium price tag. Bringing together established names, regional favourites and contemporary artists, the sale offers something for every taste, whether you are a seasoned collector, first-time buyer or simply looking for a distinctive piece for your home.

Among the highlights are works by respected Yorkshire and Northern artists, including a charming riverside landscape by James Ulric Walmsley and a watercolour by Owen Bowen, a member of the renowned Staithes Group, depicting haystacks at Stoupe Brow near Robin Hood’s Bay. Local interest continues with Adrian Thompson’s evocative view of the historic Rialto of Hull, while Yorkshire landscapes are further represented by David Baumforth’s depiction of the Hole of Horcum.

Animal subjects feature strongly throughout the catalogue, from Minnie Rosa Bebb’s delightful watercolour of three white cats drinking, to the characterful Blue Cats in a Garden by Terry Durham. Rural scenes are equally well represented, including a pair of charming gouaches by Liz Garnett Orme featuring cattle and mallards.

Alongside original paintings, the sale includes contemporary prints such as Roy Fairchild-Woodard’s sought-after mixed media screenprint Intimacy I, offering collectors the opportunity to acquire works by established artists at attractive estimates.

With estimates designed to encourage participation at every level, Affordable Art is an inviting opportunity to discover original works, uncover hidden gems and enjoy the pleasure of collecting art without breaking the bank. Browse and bid now.
