A rare opportunity to acquire historic horse-drawn carriages and traditional appointments from a long-established private collection, recognised as one of the largest of its type in the UK.
This specialist sale presents a carefully selected group of original carriages, many with prior use in television and film productions, ranging from traditional working vehicles to restored examples and period display pieces. Highlights include an impressive late 19th century body break by Peters & Sons of London, formerly owned by the Marquis of Zetland, and a Holland & Holland tandem cart from the Althorp Spencer family estate.
Complementing the carriage offering is a varied selection of appointments and equestrian memorabilia, including a richly decorated American Western parade saddle by Keyston Bros of San Francisco, alongside harness, carriage lamps, driving whips and associated equipment.
Collections of this scale and provenance are seldom brought to market and will appeal to collectors, enthusiasts, the film and events industry, and those with an interest in traditional sporting and country pursuits.
