Notes: Tabner born in South Bank Middlesbrough now lives a few hundred yards from the highest cliffs in England, at 650 feet above the sea, and near the Boulby Potash Mine. His father had been a merchant seaman and Tabner remains fascinated by the grim grandeur of the industrial Northeast, the sea and the weather. Between September and December 1990 Tabner made the journey through the South Atlantic to the Falkland Islands and on to South Georgia, documenting 'en plein air' the sea and landscape in all weathers.
