Adam Francis Watson (Sheffield 1859-1932): Catbells from Derwentwater, oil on canvas unsigned 30cm x 40cm Notes: Watson was an important Sheffield-based architect, one half of the architectural firm Holmes and Watson alongside Edward Holmes (1859-1921). Together, they were responsible for many fine public and private buildings in the north of England. Watson was also an accomplished painter, although left the majority of his works unsigned. We are grateful to the artist's estate for their assistance in cataloguing this lot.
