Ray Lonsdale (Northern British 1965-): 'The Ballad of Youths Farewell', steel statuette signed titled and dated 2010 to the base, H37cm including base
Notes: originally a steel fabricator from Durham, sculpture had always been Ray’s passion, and after winning The People’s Award within the Hanging Jury Competition in Newcastle 2003, he now works as an artist full-time. He is best known for his large-scale public sculptures, such as 'Freddie Gilroy and the Belsen Stragglers' on Scarborough North Bay, 'The Tunney' on Scarborough Pier, 'The Smugglers Apprentice' on Merchants Row, and 'A High Tide in Short Wellies' on the Coble Landing Filey.
