Condition Report:

There are signs of wear commensurate with age and use. There is a small loss to the spout and as been re-gilded, which leads us to believe there may be other areas which have also been re-gilded. The interior lip upon which the cover sits has a crack running through and along the top of the teapot which has the gilt band of decoration, although across this band the crack is much finer and fainter. The cover, when inspected with UV light, shows areas of restoration/overpainting around the underside, however, please note this is not visible when the cover is on the teapot. The ‘similarly decorated’ teacup is crazed. All the pieces have fairly light wear including some surface scratches, varying degrees of light crazing, scratches and light rubbing to gilt detail.
