Our eagerly-awaited Autumn Art sale is here. The catalogue includes a fine selection of artworks from artists past & present - a sale of selected pictures from local, national & international estates and private vendors.

Featuring:

Works from two important East Yorkshire private collections, including pieces by John Brett, Walter Hunt, John Ward of Hull, William Henry Gore, George Wolfe, Walter Crane, John Wilson Carmichael, Job Bulman, James Neal & Alfred William Hunt. 
 
Over 40 works by members of the Staithes Group of artists, consisting three collections by direct family descent (Hirst Walker, Owen Bowen and Frank Henry Mason) that have never before been on the open market, and the partial studio collection of elusive Staithes Group member Paul Paul, to include a very rare self portrait.
 
An excellent selection of quality landscape paintings from the 17th to the 20th century, by artists such as John Glover, William ''''''''Alphabet'''''''' Bond & George Vicat Cole, to Herbert F Royle & David Baumforth.

Member of the Leicestershire Society of Botanical Illustrators; Fellow of the Chelsea Physic Garden Florilegium Society (from 2002). Her work is held in the permanent collections of the RHS Lindley Library, The Highgrove Florilegium, The Hunt Institute and the Chelsea Physic Garden. Teaches for the Chelsea Botanical Art School. On the selection Panels for LSBI and Eden Project Florilegium Society. Exhibited at the 12th International at the Hunt in 2007, the Natural History Museum and Shirley Sherwood Gallery.

James Neal (Northern British 1918-2011): 'Houses in Victoria Avenue Hull', these are the houses opposite where the artist lived at number 205, oil on board signed, 20cm x 24cm Provenance: East Yorkshire private collection purchased from the artist; exh. Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 1965, No.764. Neal was accepted at St Martin's School of Art in 1932, aged 14. In 1958 he moved to Hull as Lecturer in Painting and Drawing at Hull Regional College of Art, then becoming Senior Lecturer in the History of Art.
