Notes: Edith was the daughter of a Quaker Schoolmaster living in Scarborough as early as 1881, she studied under Albert Strange at the Scarborough School of Art, exhibiting at the Royal Academy and the RBA between 1889 and 1893. She married fellow artist Nelson Ethelred Dawson in 1893 then moving to London she mostly abandoned painting in favour of metal and enamel work
