A mid Victorian mercury wheel barometer retailed by Thomas Grey of Newton Stewart, in a mahogany case with inlay to the edge, swans neck pediment and rounded base, with an 8” silvered register recording barometric air pressure from 28 to 31 inches with weather predictions, brass recording hand and steel indicating hand within a convex glass and cast brass bezel, silvered “butlers” mirror with reeded wooden surround and a round topped thermometer box with a mercury thermometer measuring degrees Fahrenheit, level bubble with silvered nameplate.
