Provenance: painted in 1964 and sold to the artist's agents A. Vivian Mansell & Co Ltd on 13th Feb 1964 for 30 guineas. 
Notes: Frank Osborne was a postcard and greeting card artist and illustrator who lived in Robin Hood's Bay. Little of his work has come on to the open market as the majority was sold with copyright. The present painting probably depicts a fictionalised landscape above Fylingthorpe, near Whitby. We are grateful for the artist's estate for their help in cataloguing this lot.
