Description: Three 18th/19th century nursery plates, comprising example decorated with central printed chinoiserie scene of pagoda, fence and two figures with bird, within a moulded swag and patera border, D18cm, a William Smith & Co example decorated in the Napoleon pattern with moulded floral border, with printed mark detailed Napoleon WS&Co and faint impressed mark WS&Co's Wedgewood beneath, D18cm, and a pearlware example decorated with chinoiserie figural scene within a moulded border, with overpainted decoration, collectors label beneath inscribed 'Early Wedgwood or Leeds 1750-60', D16cm
Smith was known for marking his wares 'Vedgwood' or 'Wedgewood', and was prosecuted for trying to pass his work off as genuine Wedgewood.
