Frederick William Booty (British 1840-1924): The Scarborough Pageant, watercolour signed and dated 1912, 61cm x 86cm Notes: The Pageant took place over four days in July 1912 and repeated in August, it depicted two millennia of Scarborough's history 500BC- 1800AD. The Pageant involved about 1,300 performers and a further 500 in it's organisation, the huge production ended up making a loss of about £2,000
