A 19th century Belgium slate mantle clock with a recessed flat top above a break arch pediment supported by two reeded columns with Corinthian capitals on a deep moulded stepped plinth, with a French 8-day movement, striking the hours and half-hours on a coiled gong, recoil escapement and rack strike, black slate dial with a gilt chapter ring and Roman numerals, brass hands (minute hand broken)with a Brocot pendulum adjustment arbor and strike/silent arbor, dial and movement backplate engraved "MUDON, Gloucester Road, South Kensington", bevelled flat glass and cast bezel, with pendulum, no key. *Strike silent features are exceptionally rare on French mantle clocks; activation on this clock is by turning a squared arbor protruding through the dial at the six o’clock position. With an early-20th century Art Deco oak cased Aneroid barometer, square register measuring barometric pressure from 26 to 31 inches with weather predictions, steel indicating hand and brass recording hand within a flat square glass and chrome bezel, rectangular thermometer box with a mercury thermometer and silvered scale measuring the temperature in Fahrenheit and Celsius.

An early 20th century mantle clock in a mahogany case with a break arch pediment, supported by two circular wooden columns with brass capitals, satinwood stringing and inlay to the front, moulded plinth raised on four bun feet, with a white enamel dial, upright Arabic numerals and minute markers, steel spade hands enclosed in a convex glass with a brass bezel, eight-day HAC striking movement, striking the hours and half hours on a coiled gong, with countwheel striking and a recoil escapement. With pendulum and Key. *The crossed arrows trademark displayed on the gong stand of this clock represents the Hamburg American Clock Company (HAC) formed in Germany in 1873 by Paul Landenberger and Phillipp Lang, many of their clocks were exported to England and America during the late19th and early 20th century.

A 1950’s gilt brass cased Jager- LeCoultre Atmos Clock, 15 jewelled Swiss movement inscribed LeCoultre Atmos with the serial number 71619 , five glazed panels, chapter ring with applied Arabic and baton hours with matching hands, skeletonised movement with oscillating balance wheel beneath, three leveling feet to the base and pendulum lock, with original booklet. Created by the Jaeger LeCoultre watchmakers in 1928 the Atmos clock receives its power from minute changes in atmospheric temperature, hence the clocks name. Within a sealed capsule, a mixture of gases expand and contract with each temperature change. At a temperature between 15° and 30° Celsius, a variation of a single degree is enough to power the clock for two days. In order to operate, the clock functions with an almost complete lack of friction.

A compact Edwardian Aneroid barometer in a Regency “Sheraton style”case, broken pediment with finial and rounded base, mahogany veneered with satinwood stringing to the edge and panels of coloured and shaded conch shell and leaf inlay enclosed within entwined leaves, with a six inch dial recording barometric air pressure from 28 to 31 inches in fifths of an inch, steel indicating hand and brass recording hand, dial inscribed “J Casartelli & Son, 43 Market Street, Manchester”, with a flat bevelled glass and brass bezel, glazed arched topped thermometer box with a spirit thermometer and silvered register recording the temperature in degrees Fahrenheit. *J Carsatelli & Son (1896-1925) A partnership between Joseph Lewis and his son Joseph Henry. The elder Joseph died in 1900 and the son carried on the business until his death in 1925.
